Ewize Da Wize1

The Artist

A.B. — Abdur Rahman. Hip-Hop artist, vocalist, CEO of Da Wize1 Ent. LLC. Born in Portland, Oregon. Based in Portsmouth, Virginia.

He does not rap about the character — he becomes the character.

Origin

Built from the ground up

Born A.B. — Abdur Rahman — Ewize Da Wize1 grew up between Portland's quiet streets and its loudest stages. Hip-Hop wasn't a hobby; it was a survival tool, a language, and eventually, a business. Every bar he writes comes from a real place — family, faith, hustle, and the city that raised him.

The Craft

More than a triple threat

Artist. Vocalist. CEO. Ewize Da Wize1 doesn't fit neatly into a lane — he builds his own. From engineering his own sessions to running Da Wize1 Ent. LLC, he's the kind of artist that does everything in-house. The result: music that sounds like nobody else, because nobody else made it the way he did.

Standing on the shoulders of giants

INFLUENCES

Pac. Nas. DMX. Jay. The greats taught him that real Hip-Hop is felt before it's understood. Ewize honors that lineage while pushing it forward — pulling from West Coast grit, East Coast wordplay, and the gospel of his own lived experience.

The Long Story

Ewize Da Wize1, born Abdur Rahman, is a Hip-Hop artist, vocalist, and entrepreneur based in Portsmouth, virginia. Known to fans simply as A.B., he is the founder and CEO of Da Wize1 Ent. LLC, the independent label he built to house his music and develop the artists in his orbit.

His sound is unmistakably West Coast — gritty, melodic, and rooted in real life — but his pen draws from a wider tradition. He moves freely between street narratives, introspective verses, and the kind of anthems built for a sold-out room.

Over the years he has shared stages with rising and established names across the Pacific Northwest and beyond, performing more than ten major stages and earning a reputation as a relentless live performer.

He does not rap about the character — he becomes the character. Whether on a track or in a verse, Ewize disappears into the world he's building. That commitment is why people leave shows talking about him for weeks.

Press has taken notice. In 2022, 24Hip-Hop ran a feature declaring he was "here to take over," and the catalog he's released since has only doubled down on that promise.

“With God, all things are possible.”
